Current Questions Under Inquiry

These are the key public interest questions under investigation by The Good State Project

The Good State Project puts forward the questions that the public bodies should already be asking themselves

Department for Transport : DVLA

Has a government department designed an information channel that compromises the security of millions of personal medical records?

Office for Budget Responsibility

Has a public body tasked with independent rigorous assessment been producing work for highly sensitive policies based on manipulated narrative and no reasonable basis?

Information Commissioner's Office

Is this public body fit for purpose any more?

Does it engage properly with FOI requests or is it more aligned with protecting and shielding public authorities than its transparency mandate?

General Regulatory Chamber

Is this tribunal fit for purpose?

Is it contributing to a toxic information access rights system in the UK, against the interests of the public?

Kent Police

Has it been carrying out thousands of prosecutions of members of the public whilst withholding crucial information about potentially faulty cameras?

Has it been making materially false public statements regarding its camera network?

If the state uses automated machines and systems to accuse people, does it have a responsibility to know when those machines and systems are working properly?

Can a public authority rely on automated systems to progress its own activities (like prosecuting members of the public) while structurally insulating itself from the knowledge those systems produce - especially knowledge and data that concerns the integrity of the function being performed?

Financial Ombudsman Service

Is it capable to self-correction?

Does its current structure limit oversight of ombudsman decisions?

Are there any internal guardrails to ensure members of the public are treated fairly and not merely given a weak, false impression of justice when they complain about corporations?

Department for Work & Pensions

Is it refusing to comply with court and tribunal orders?

Is it unlawfully coercing vulnerable individuals into its assessment processes without any lawful or transparent basis?

MI6

Has the agency purposefully engineered an unlawful discriminatory psychometric testing tool to ensure only impressionable, compliant individuals are allowed to join the organisation?

What does this mean for authoritarian power inside our own intelligence agencies?

Does this dilute and weaken the moral and ethical fibre of our intelligence agencies?

With such an operating model, is the public able to trust the agency to protect its interests? What happens if authoritarian power at its highest levels begins to serve its own interests : without any internal guardrails. Does this make the agency a long-term threat to the safety and prosperity of UK citizens?

MI5

Does this organisation have any suitable regard for UK law and the judiciary any more?

In 2025, aside from making false statements to the High Court, has it also purposefully concealed its role with MI6’s discriminatory approach to organisational DNA and preference for internal compliance over integrity?
